FOR SALE: 6yo, 16h, Chestnut with Flaxen mane, QH gelding. Quiet, all around horse. Children’s hunter, field hunter, Low level Event, trail, etc. Come try him and make an offer on this lovely horse

Tempe

Tempe is 6 yo, 15.3 hd. mare. She was Novice HT Horse of the Year for NCDCTA in 2003 as a 4 year old. She has done three Training level HT.

$15,000

She is usually near the top of the pack after dressage. She is a very classy jumper. When ridden by her owner and when a prospective buyer rode her she had no trouble with banks, water and ditches. She is not, however, a packer. She is still fairly young and is a high energy individual. She is very brave and has plenty of "go" for the cross country, but is not hard to control. She goes xc in a plain D-ring snaffle and does dressage in a plastic, french link snaffle. She is capable of Prelim HT if brought along carefully. She would be best suited to a young rider or smaller adult working with a trainer. She would certainly take a young rider through "A" Pony Club.

She is not marish. She has competed and been taken to clinics when she was in heat. She is a little tighter in the back than normal and will occasionally stop and pee in an embarassing place, but is really no trouble to deal with. She is kind of shy and gets worried when she is in the middle of a bunch of strange horses moving faster than a walk in the warm-up. Therefore, try to keep her out of the middle of crowds so she can relax, but she is really no trouble this way. Keep her with one other horse and it is also no trouble to ride her off or put her in the trailer and take her away by herself.

She really likes human attention and tries incredibly hard to please. She would like someone who spends time with her and fusses over her.

X- rays of her feet, fetlocks and hocks were done as a 3 year old - all clean. She is 6 now. She has splints on both from legs, but they are cold and set.

Please contact me for more information or to try this lovely horse. 336-562-8053 or ginger@equetec.com

Alutia - has been sold to a wonderful family in Louisville, Ky Good luck Harvey!! She will be missed, It's been a GREAT 10 years, Lucy. I can't wait to see how she is doing when I come up to do clinics.

Hi Ginger:

Tamme and I wish that we could make the trip down to NC, but wouldn't want to put our guys through the 10 hour drive for a one hour ride. Sounds like a fun clinic.

Alutia and I are really learning lots. She is a great teacher. She is also so affectionate and snugly. Great little lady. We have schooled XC once, in on a beginner course two weeks ago and will be going back again this afternoon. She did great.

Took her to Mary's indoor this week and had a jump lesson in the midst of a fierce thunderstorm. She was unflappable.

The flat work is coming along with her. A friend of Mary's, Andrea Kroll, is a GP rider and trainer and loves working with Alutia. She comes to our farm to teach now and we are making progress. I have had to learn what "contact" really means, and what it means to use my legs. Lucy lets me know when I get it right and when I get it wrong. Everyone marvels at how well she has been trained. I just give them your name.

Talk to you again soon.

Harvey
